Message List Options

Outlook Web App

Here you can learn the different ways in which you can view and organize your message list in the Outlook Web App (OWA).

Using a Desktop Application?

Filtering the message list

Filtering allows you to view your message list filtered by different conditions such as by Unread or Flagged messages.

1. Click the Filter drop-down menu at the top of the message list and select the condition you would like to filter your Inbox by, such as Flagged.

2. This will then show you only the messages that have been flagged within that folder. To clear the filter, click the x beside where it says 'Flagged'.

Sorting the message list

Sorting the message list allows you to view your messages in a different order, such as by date, subject, or from.

1. Click the Filter drop-down menu at the top of the message list, go to Sort by and select the condition upon which you would like to sort your message list (e.g., From).

2. Your message list will now be sorted alphabetically by sender.

Message list view

There are two ways to view your message list: Message view and Conversation view. The default in SFU Mail is set to conversation view.

1. To change your message view, click the Filter drop-down menu at the top of your message list and go to Show as. Here you can choose between Messages and Conversations.
