One of the most widely discussed issues in Vancouver — housing and affordability — has been addressed at many levels and by many different groups in the city. But what about the future generation of city dwellers? It’s time to hear from millennials, and bring their ideas to the forefront when ideating and implementing solutions.

Vancouver’s 30Network on Housing & Affordability is a pop-up think & do tank of the top 30 young urban influencers under 30. There has been a lot of talk about young people being affected by inaffordability and housing, but not as much talk with or by young people. Over the past two months, the 30Network has taken this conversation one step further. They have dug deep into our current reality and challenges facing millennials with regards to affordable housing in Vancouver, as well as built a vision of what affordable housing should look like. On May 10th, the cohort will present their innovative solutions and YOU get to decide the winners! Each 30Network Project Team will pitch their ideas to the judges and the audience, who will then vote for the first and second prize winner. Winners will receive seed funding which will enable their two projects to be implemented on the ground.

Come join the solutions, be inspired, and continue the conversation around millennials and housing in the city of Vancouver with #heretostayyvr.

Special thanks to Vancity Credit Union, Cities4People, the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association, Generation Squeeze, the Real Estate Foundation of BC, LandlordBC, the HiVE, Embark SFU, RADIUS, and SFU's Vancity Office of Community Engagement for their generous support in making the 30Network possible.
