Study abroad

Salzburg, Austria

Exchanges are a way to live abroad and immerse yourself in the host culture, while internationalizing your degree and resume. They also encourage students to develop a global perspective.

SFU and the School of Interactive Arts & Technology have exchange agreements in place with two universities: Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and their Department of Industrial Design and the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences. At these two institutions, students can find many courses in the interactive arts and technology disciplines.

There are also many other universities worldwide that SIAT students can choose to study at. For more information about exchange destinations, see the Study Abroad destinations webpage where you can filter your search by subject area to see destinations where you can study interactive arts and technology.

"When I started university, I made a bucket list of everything I wanted to accomplish – volunteering, co-op, exchange, etc. However, as I moved through uni, I thought that there was no way I could squeeze in an exchange. Once I learned more about exchange, and realized that I could still get SIAT credits while abroad, the possibility seemed much more real. I was also at a point where I was feeling really burnt out at school and exchange was a great way to help me gain motivation and re-fall in love with design!"
