Shadbolt Fellowship 2012-2013

February 05, 2012

Please join me in congratulating Dara Culhane and Gerardo Otero each of whom has been awarded a Shadbolt Fellowship for 2012/13, to commence in the fall of 2012

The Shadbolt Fellowship is financed through a SFU endowed fund; the fund was established by a gift in the Will of Doris Shadbolt, and is known as the Jack and Doris Shadbolt Fund for the Humanities.

The Shadbolt Fellowship is a highly competitive award, that can only be held once during a faculty member's career.  It provides release time from teaching duties for two teaching semesters in an academic year to enable Shadbolt Fellows to focus on research/creative projects.  It is tenable at SFU.

Once again congratulations to Dara and Gerardo!

The Jack and Doris Shadbolt Fund for the Humanities is to: “support the development of a fellowship program for artists, writers and academics. The program will be housed in the Faculty of Arts [and Social Sciences] and the program will support resident fellows who will be free to perform, create, research and otherwise interact with faculty and students on professionally related activities, to enhance not only their own intellectual horizons but those of SFU and the wider community as well.”
