2008 Sterling Prize Award

May 05, 2008

Congratulations go to Heribert Adam, PhD, FRSC Professor Emeritus, for receiving The Nora and Ted Sterling Prize in Controversy.  "This unique prize was conceived to honour those who question conventional wisdom and challenge entrenched positions with reason, evidence and compassion, and strikes the very heart of the role the University should play in society," wrote Dr. Ron Ydenberg, Chair of the Sterling Prize Committee.  The committee made its selection based on Dr. Adam's work on the apartheid regime in South Africa and its transition to democracy, as well as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the Middle East.

This prestigious award will be presented to Dr. Adam at a ceremony held at the Wosk Centre for Dialogue, Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, on October 15, 2008.

The award carries a $5,000 honorium.
