"Gee, haw. Star! Muley! Hey Boy. Blankety-blank, blank, blank!" the bullskinner would shout until he was tired of the sound of his own voice. The scramble of hooves, the heaving of several tons of live muscle against the dead weight of 15000 board feet of raw timber, the slow and slipping progress to the beach or bluff's edge where a long chute might receive the cut and drop it expeditiously into the waiting sound or lake.
