1. BEAVER LAKE SOUND WALK 14'35"

2. HORN (foghorn?) 0'15"

REEL 27 COMMENTARY

1 . Partly because the recordist rarely stops to listen, there is very little focus to this sequence. Footsteps are a constant sound, and detract from all other sounds around. However, the soundscape is dominated mostly by the sound of traffic -- a dull roar in the background. This also tends to unfocus perception. Opens with goose honking, recordist begins to walk along footpath.

4'20" brief gurgle of stream.

*4'40" interesting train whistle sonority in combination with geese honks. Distant horn (foghorn?) every 30" (see also reel 24, take 3).

*9'30" distant seaplane.

10'00" background traffic ambience is rising, walking surface changes to gravel.

2. This is the same horn that had been blowing regularly in the distance throughout previous take.
