REEL 62 COMMENTARY

1/2. Mostly traffic and wind noise, one duck squawks in solitary splendor. Not very interesting. The lagoon is lost in the noise.

3. Wandering about the main floor area (entering west, through main lobby to north lobby and outside). Salubrious moozak and low frequency rumble. Clunking is from recordist's walking movements. People's voices.

3'15" huge amounts of low frequency rumble, causing distortion, and some interference.

3'35" moozak closer with interference, voices in background.

4'32" interference again.

6'03" car horn.

6'34" telephone.

7'04" moving outside, flag pole wire knocking against mast, footsteps. Bad wind and distortion till 7'39".

7'45" footsteps passing.

7'53" distant car horn.

4. A busy downtown hotel pub, catering to the under 30 crowd. Heavy door slam as the recordists enter the pub, with distortion. Good crowd sounds, lots of talk, busy ambience.

2'35" getting permission to record "...just a research project..." heavy lows at the table.

5'20" whistle.

*5'25" p.a. announcement.

5'50" loud sneeze.

6'30" juke box starts up, note how the low frequency is audible only.

6'50" p.a. again.
