Musculoskeletal Injuries/Signs & Symptoms

Work related musculoskeletal injuries (msi) may be caused or aggravated by work activities.

Signs and Symptoms of MSI

Signs can be seen (swelling/redness), symptoms are invisible (tingling/numbness).

Without training, an employee may use a proper workstation incorrectly and can develop signs or symptoms.

Responsibilities

To prevent work related msi's, SFU relies on supervisors.

A supervisor whose employee reports, or who notices an employee with signs or symptoms of msi, should request a workstation assessment immediately.

Employees, who experience signs or symptoms of msi, must report this to their immediate supervisor.
