International Travel Safety Registration System
SFU’s International Travel Safety Registration System was established to keep records of contact information and travel plans for student, faculty and staff.
Every student participating in an international activity must be registered with this database before their departure from Canada. Faculty and staff members are highly encouraged to register also (see the Faculty & Staff information page).
- The information is accessible and available on a 24/7 basis. The database enables the University to monitor student safety, update students on travel advisories from the Canadian government, and locate and assist them in an emergency.
- Students who are Canadian citizens are must also register with the Registry of Canadians Abroad. Students who are not Canadian citizens are strongly encouraged to register with their home country’s Foreign Affairs department/ministry.
