Field activities are defined as work, research and/or learning activities undertaken by faculty, staff or students under the auspices of SFU and beyond the geographical boundaries of University property.
Supervisors are required to assess the risks of the activities, mitigate risks, and ensure team members have the appropriate training to undertake the field tasks and have adequate personal protective equipment. Team members must be informed of the risks and have adequate training, for example, in first aid and securing assistance in an emergency.
