Lab safety training

Registration is now open for the Summer 2020 semester.

The courses listed below are delivered through online training modules and quizzes on the SFU Canvas Learning Management System.

Select the safety training courses listed below that apply to your work at SFU by checking the box beside the name of each course, then click 'Submit' below.

Course start date: June 15, 2020. Includes SFU Safety Orientation, Electrical Safety, & Fire Safety.
Course start date: June 22, 2020. Includes WHMIS, safety responsibilities, laboratory hazards, emergency response, exposure routes and control, hazardous waste disposal, SFU hazardous inventory system, chemical storage, laboratory apparatus safety, cryogenics & compressed gas safety, and laboratory glass safety.
Course start date: June 29, 2020. Includes administrative and practical aspects of the SFU Biosafety Program.
Course start date: July 6, 2020. Includes basic theoretical principles of radiation protection, SFU procedures for documentation of usage of radioactive material, disposal of resulting waste, personnel exposure, and contamination control.

Students are not immediately added to each Canvas course, but rather in batches.
