The study of the Humanities covers a broad range of ideas and subjects drawn from philosophy, art, literature, history, religion, science, and social and political thought. Through direct engagement with original texts, Humanities raises critical questions about the achievements and controversies associated with the human condition.

Degree: Bachelor of Arts

The Humanities program in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is offered as a major, a minor, and a joint major with English; French; History; Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies; or Philosophy.

The program also offers languages through the Language Training Institute, and certificates in religious studies and in medieval and Renaissance studies.
