Multimedia Communications Engineering ENSC 424 (4)

This course covers the technical basis for multimedia communications systems. The main topics are as follows: methods for audio and visual signal compression and processing; the communications requirements of multimedia systems, such as synchronization, quality of service and bandwidth; the architectures and protocols associated with multimedia communications networks. Prerequisite: ENSC 380 or MSE 280, with a minimum grade of C- and a minimum of 80 units.
