Hello, my name is Julia. I am a 3rd-year student, majoring in Sociology. I am still trying to find a minor I'm passionate about. Currently, I'm considering Communications, Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies or Anthropology as a minor.

I transferred to SFU, from Douglas College at the Beginning of 2020. While at Douglas, I was involved in their Student Engagement Department where I got to be apart of multiple orientations events, fun workshops and giving campus tours. My time working and volunteering at Douglas showed me how much I love meeting new people, working as a team to create a welcoming environment, and putting something positive into a broader community. These are activities I hope to continue while at SFU.

Outside of school life, I practice yoga and try to get outdoors on my days off to either go hiking or snowshoeing on our local mountains. When I find myself with downtime at home, I like to get creative with crafting projects. Currently, I'm working on sewing a t-shirt quilt made from old concert t-shirts I have collected.

Career planning can sometimes be a scary undertaking. Still, I hope to provide fun self-exploration activities and practical strategies to help students out.  Feel free to say hi to me if you ever see me around campus or find me in the Career and Volunteer Services office.
