Effective Intercultural Communication

The Effective Intercultural Communications Course is a facilitated online course for students who would like to increase their intercultural understanding and their communication skills through developing self-awareness. Participants identify cultural influences; gain insight into their own cultural rules, norms and biases; and use empathy to discuss the interconnection and complexity of culture and communication. Participants also learn to develop tools and strategies to promote integration of diversity in inclusive ways.

The course timeline is set up to accommodate busy schedules. It is mainly instructed through videos and infographics, and would require about an hour per week. The course is open for six weeks and students are free to work through the material at their own pace.

Participation in this course is free. EIC is offered every term, find registration dates on myExperience.
