Effective Intercultural Communication

Effective Intercultural Communication (EIC) is a FREE facilitated online course for students who would like to increase their intercultural understanding and cross-cultural communication skills. Participants identify cultural influences; gain insight into their own cultural rules, norms and biases; and use empathy to discuss the interconnection and complexity of culture and communication. Participants will also understand the impacts of colonialism on Indigenous peoples in Canada and develop tools and strategies to work across differences.

The course is designed to accommodate a busy schedule. It is mainly instructed through videos and infographics, and would require about an hour per week. The course is open for six weeks and students are free to work through the material at their own pace.

EIC is offered every term! Find registration dates on myExperience and/or myInvolvement.
