Computing Science DDP (Dual Degree Program) Buddy Program

The SFU-Zhejiang University Dual Degree Program in Computing Science is uniquely designed for both Canadian and Chinese students to study together as a cohort for two years at ZJU, based in Hangzhou, China, and two years at SFU. The DDP Buddy program is a mentorship program designed to provide peer support for students newly admitted to the Dual Degree Program. Senior student mentors will utilize their knowledge of SFU (or Zhejiang University) and Canada (or China) to help ease new students’ transition to the partner university and country.

Mentors will establish a rapport with their mentees through in-person meetings, virtual communication, and social events.

  •  Engage mentees via social media, face to face meetings and a variety of academic and social events.
  • Provide guidance for new students regarding services, resources, events and other involvement opportunities both on and off campus.
  • Act as a cultural and language partner where applicable.
