Video Analysis Volunteer
Injury Prevention and Mobility Lab (IPML) Online Volunteer Opportunity!
Do you have free time during the COVID-19 shut-down? Are you looking for a way to positively contribute to scientific research? Why not start now and volunteer at SFU’s Injury Prevention and Mobility Lab (IPML)!
The IPML is recruiting volunteers to engage in video analysis of falls experienced by older adults in long-term care homes. The videos are analyzed during Zoom videoconferences by teams of three raters, who agree on the best answers to questions. As a volunteer, you will learn a great deal about how and why falls and injuries occur in older adults, and how they can be prevented. You will also meet other students working on your team.
We are looking for individuals who can commit to dedicating four hour per week (two sessions x 2 hours per session). All necessary training will be provided, and all sessions will be done remotely for the upcoming summer term.
