For students struggling with chronic pain
What is Living with Chronic Pain?
Living with Chronic Pain is an acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)-based support group for students struggling with chronic pain.
How does it work?
This group provides an opportunity to learn about chronic pain, utilize pain management and coping strategies, reflect on your experience with chronic pain and connect with other students who also live with chronic pain.
This group will explore:
- Information regarding physical, psychological and cognitive symptoms associated with chronic pain
- Coping strategies such as mindfulness, self compassion, acceptance, thought reframing and the identification of, and commitment to, value guided behaviors
- Resources for chronic pain

Sarah is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a MA degree in Counselling Psychology from Simon Fraser University. Sarah is committed to providing her clients with a collaborative, safe and nurturing space that honors their unique experiences, culture, histories, and identity. Sarah is passionate about helping her clients recognize their personal strengths, cultivate a more compassionate relationship with themselves, and develop key skills and strategies that will help them address their concerns and move towards their unique personal goals.
