The Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) contributes to the Healthy Campus Community (HCC) initiative led by the SFU Health Promotion Team.
This initiative takes a systemic, campus-wide approach to create conditions that positively enhance health and well-being. This involves working collaboratively with campus stakeholders. With students as central stakeholders, student engagement and students’ voices are key in informing, shaping, and implementing initiatives. It is a core value of the health promotion team to engage students in the process of building a healthy campus community. SHAC members contribute to the Healthy Campus Community initiative through student engagement, advocacy, and feedback.
SFU Student Resilience during Burnaby Campus Construction Survey:
Recognizing that construction on campus can impact students, SHAC is interested in learning more about how students have been able to adapt and demonstrate resilience during construction. They hope to gather information on how students have been able to adapt and find ways to prioritize action in minimizing adverse impacts in the future.
The deadline to complete this survey is February 28, 2020.
- Cannabis dialogues, which informed a final report submitted to the Canadian Institute for Substance Use Research (CISUR)
