Join Our Team

Why join the Global Connections team?

Global Connections Program, formerly known as the Global Community Mentorship Program, was created to help new students from international pathways adjust to life in Canada and make the best out of their time at SFU.

The program is led by a team of student staff and a group of dedicated student volunteers, known as Community Leaders. Community Leaders are current students (any returning international and domestic undergraduate students) who collaborate together to host program events and meet ups for the program members. Together, they host peer-to-peer discussions, sharing tips from their time at SFU and celebrating diversity through intercultural socials.

When you join our team, you will be able to:

  • Contribute to intercultural experience and gain exposure to various cultures
  • Build inclusive global community at SFU by supporting other students, as well as knowledge sharing, skills, and time
  • Meet likeminded people, cultivate diverse friendships, and participate in fun events on and off campus
