Vancouver is her favorite city because it's so diverse and an amazing place for outdoor enthusiasts. Her heroes are her father, her mother, and Doctor Who. She would like to identify herself as a feminist, a global citizen, a potential gardener, a happy drunk, and a deep sleeper

Stephen Li

Stephen is a gemologist and a graduate student of the Global Communication MA Double Degree program. He loves SFU because it is a close-knit community with ample opportunities, be it research, volunteer, workshops, exchange, or work.

Sayemin Naheen

Hi there! I am Sayemin Naheen, from Bangladesh and I am currently pursuing my MA Economics degree. I like to call myself an wanderer- I love to try out new experiences, and push my boundaries! I am an unusual mix of an introvert-nature enthusiast-language lover-traveler. I believe that food transcends culture and brings people of diverse background together; so I am always grabbing the opportunity to learn about cultures through language and food. I am really excited to be a part of the GCMP family, and to help out new students!

Ashwin Ramani

Ashwin Ramani, a passionate mechatronics master's student from SFU. Ashwin has spent two decades of his life in India and now lives in the Mainland trying to build a career in mechatronics. His interests are riding heavy motorbikes, playing soccer and volleyball, meeting new people, jamming with friends and chilling in lakes with a view (in the picture).

Reem Mustafa - Coordinator

Hey everyone! I'm super excited to be the coordinator for the Global Community Mentorship Program this year. A little over four years ago I moved half way across the world to start my new life here at SFU. Depsite being overwhelmed at first, I am now proud to call SFU my home. Through the GCMP I hope to help as many incoming students, with their transition to their new home and familiarize them with SFU's resources, as possible! I look forward to building an incredible, intercultural community with you and hope to see you soon!
