Codes of conduct

SFU Recreation is a unique community of students, staff, faculty and the public connected by active living and leadership development. Our codes of conduct are in place to create an environment that is safe, friendly and inclusive for everyone.

SFU Recreation code of conduct

These general rules apply to all facilities, services and programs associated with our department.

Membership and participation with SFU Recreation is a privilege. All members and participants are expected to:

  • Treat all staff, facilities and equipment with respect
  • Act with courtesy and integrity while respecting the rights, welfare and dignity of other members and participants
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures set by the department and the university while using our facilities, services and programs
  • Act in a safe and responsible manner regarding themselves and others

t warning Members violating university policies, the Recreation Code of Conduct or Centre Code of Conduct may have their SFU Burnaby Recreation Membership or day pass privileges revoked.

Centres' codes of conduct

Specific codes of conduct exist for our Fitness Centre, Aquatic Centre, Climbing wall and recreation sports program.
