Don’t wait until you're admitted to SFU before applying to housing: You don't have to be admitted to SFU or FIC to submit an application. Note that offers are made once you are admitted. Spaces are limited so apply early.
To move in or continue to the following term, you must be an SFU or FIC student:
- Be admitted or eligible to enroll for the term
- Maintain full-time enrollment or equivalent for Fall and Spring terms (see Summer Housing Exceptions in the Residence Handbook)
- Be registered in at least 9 credit hours (3 courses) for the academic term or
- Be enrolled in a full time graduate program or
- Be enrolled in a co-op work term or the Back on Track Program
- Have no overdue fees to SFU or FIC including tuition and residence fees
- Students with a documented or suspected accessibility need to register with SFU's Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL). CAL will make accommodation requests on behalf of a student with an accepted offer to residence to meet their needs. For more information please visit SFU's Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL)
Priority Housing Access
Some SFU students who apply to residence qualify for Priority Housing. You must be admitted to SFU and have a completed application for housing
- Indigenous students : students admitted to SFU who are First Nations, (Status or Non-Status), Metis or Inuit
- SFU Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship Recipients
- SFU WUSC Student Refugee Program

Family Housing
Student Family Housing is reserved for couples, and for students with one or more dependent children. Please see chart provided below to identify age requirements for each unit type.
