Travelling Information during COVID-19
If you are currently travelling from, or, are planning to travel from outside of Canada at any time, current regulations require that you must self-quarantine/isolate for 14 days off campus upon returning/arriving from international travel, including the United States, prior returning to residence at SFU and you must provide a plan for self-isolation.
Undergraduate Student
COVID-19 Travelling / Planning steps
Students who are currently living in Residence and plan to travel outside of Canada
- You will be required to self-quarantine/self-isolate for 14-days OFF-CAMPUS upon your return to Canada before moving back into your room in Residence.
- SFU Student: contact us at student_support@sfu.ca for help planning for your self-isolation period.
- FIC student: register your plan with FIC.
Students who intend to move into Residence and are either traveling from outside of Canada or are showing symptoms in advance of moving in
- You are required to quarantine/self-isolate for 14-days OFF CAMPUS upon your return/arrival back into Canada. You will not be able complete your 14-day self-isolation in residences.
- You are required to monitor yourself for symptoms of COVID-19 during your 14-days of self-isolation.
- You are required to have a self-isolation plan when travelling.
- SFU students: contact us at student_support@sfu.ca for help planning for your self-isolation period.
- FIC students: register your plan with FIC.
- You must register your plans for travel and self-isolation with SFU/FIC.
- You are responsible for informing SFU/FIC about your plan by submitting the SFU Self-Isolation Questionnaire. This will also give you better access to supports during your self-isolation.
Graduate Student

Students who intend to move into Residence and are either traveling from outside of Canada or are showing symptoms in advance of moving in
- You are required to quarantine/self-isolate for 14-days upon your return/arrival back into Canada.
- You are required to have a self-isolation plan when travelling.
- You are required to Contact us at student_support@sfu.ca and a representative from the Self-Isolation Support Team will contact you to discuss support.
