Help Keep Black Bears, Raccoons, and Coyotes Out of Residence!

It is fall and we have had numerous reports of wild animals in and around SFU Residences.  To help ensure that you don’t attract unwanted and dangerous animals, keep in mind the following:

1.   Always dispose of your garbage properly in the compactors or the secure black bins outside the towers.

2.   Do not put food garbage/scraps in the recycling.

3.   Never leave garbage outside or put it in the small receptacles in and around Residence.

4.   If you spot a bear, please contact Campus Security immediately (778-782-3100 or 23100) from your residence phone.

5.   If you are using the trails in and around SFU, make noise, especially when your visibility is limited. It is also suggested that if you are using the trails that you go in groups.

6.   Do not approach wild animals, feed them, or try to get close to take a picture.

We Are Hiring! Become a Community Advisor

Posting Deadline: (12:00pm) on Monday, September 18, 2017
Apply Here: Employment Opportunities

Community Advisors (CA) are student staff who live in our Residence buildings and support residents in their University experience. Our CA team is a bunch of fun, hardworking students who are making a great step in their careers by building community and learning interpersonal and professional skills that will last them a lifetime. The CA role is one of the first steps into Residence Life and a great way to get deeply involved in the campus community.

*Please note, we are hiring one Community Advisor at this time to work in Townhouses. We are also hiring Designate Community Advisors who will be on our list of people to call if we need to fill more vacant Community Advisor positions between now and April 2018. It is a great way to get one foot in the door to work with Residence Life!
