Help Keep Black Bears, Raccoons, and Coyotes Out of Residence!

It is fall and we have had numerous reports of wild animals in and around SFU Residences.  To help ensure that you don’t attract unwanted and dangerous animals, keep in mind the following:

1.   Always dispose of your garbage properly in the compactors or the secure black bins outside the towers.

2.   Do not put food garbage/scraps in the recycling.

3.   Never leave garbage outside or put it in the small receptacles in and around Residence.

4.   If you spot a bear, please contact Campus Security immediately (778-782-3100 or 23100) from your residence phone.

5.   If you are using the trails in and around SFU, make noise, especially when your visibility is limited. It is also suggested that if you are using the trails that you go in groups.

6.   Do not approach wild animals, feed them, or try to get close to take a picture.

Voices of Resistance in Ages of Extremism: A Community Discussion featuring Professor Mark Leir

When: October 6, 2016  at  6:30pm
Location: The Hall at 1736 Venables Street (at Commercial Drive)

At a time when politicians and pundits are quick to draw a moral equivalency between racism, fascism, and their opponents, thinking clearly about 'extremism' is more important than ever. Is "extremism" the same as political violence? Is there a difference between the organized violence of capital and the state and those who resist it? This panel will explore these questions.
