GRADUATE STUDENT ELIGIBILITY

As of the 2021 Spring term and until further notice, SFU Graduate Student Society’s U-Pass BC Agreement with TransLink has been amended for graduate students.

ELIGIBLE

All graduate students are eligible for the U-Pass BC program when they meet one criteria from each of the following sections:

  • Enrolled in in-person classes or classes with in-person components
  • Enrolled in on-campus research

NOT ELIGIBLE

Graduate students are not eligible for the U-Pass BC program if they meet one of the following criteria AND do not meet any of the eligible criteria listed above:

  • All enrolled courses identified as off-campus and outside Metro Vancouver
  • All enrolled courses identified as remote instruction with no in person-components

You can confirm whether your courses are considered remote for the term by reviewing the list of remote courses available here – this list is subject to change, so check back frequently. We advise that you contact your department or the office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies for further assistance should the list differ from what you have discussed with your department.

If you have any further questions about the changes to U-Pass BC Program for graduate students, please direct them to your Director of Graduate Services at grad-services@sfugradsociety.ca.

** Please note: Students do not have to apply for an exemption application if they are not eligible for the U-Pass BC program. **
