Upcoming and Current Events
October 12-13, 2022
Drop off your books at the Donation Box near the Bennett Library Front Counter to support this annual event. Join us in Convocation Mall to help to raise much-needed funds for programs and services to help children, families and seniors living in poverty.
May 13 - May 27, 2022
From May 16 - 27, SFU is collected menstrual products as part of the Period Promise campaign.
Period poverty is much more common in our community than you would think. Half of all people who menstruate say that they have struggled to purchase product for themselves at some time in their life, and more than a quarter have gone through a period without having any products to support them. Your donations will ensure that members of our community will receive access to menstrual products. Thank you in advance for your support.
May 13, 2022, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Many at-risk people can’t afford menstrual products. Join SFU and the United Way of British Columbia for a discussion about period equity as part of the United Way of British Columbia’s Period Promise campaign. This virtual event is free, and panelists include the Honourable Senator Mobina Jaffer, Q.C., Sobhana Jaya-Madhavan (SFU), Ellen Mee (SFU, student) and Angelene Prakash (New Westminster BIA).
