The City of Surrey has passed a motion to cancel its light rail transit (LRT) plans and move ahead with SkyTrain. The following SFU experts are available to provide commentary:

Alex Boston, Renewable Cities, a_boston@sfu.ca, 604.928.2347
- Boston understands the business case for rapid transit. He believes any investments should carefully consider where urban growth is going, it’s the only way to ensure taxpayer value, cuts to congestion, and that we will hit our greenhouse gas targets.

Anthony Perl, urban studies and political science, aperl@sfu.ca, 778.782.7887
- the negative implications of cancelling LRT and the affects on urban transportation in Surrey
