Media Opportunity: SFU Stadium groundbreaking—March 19 @ 10:15AM

Simon Fraser University is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony to commemorate the start of construction on the SFU Stadium project. This joint initiative by SFU and Simon Fraser Student Society (SFSS) aims to transform the student experience on campus and is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2020.

The SFU Stadium will provide student athletes with a permanent outdoor home and transform campus life, creating a vibrant meeting place that connects students, alumni and the community. For the first time in the university’s history, SFU sports teams will play in a home stadium on campus.

Guests will come together to enjoy sports and entertainment in a comfortable campus facility overlooking the Lower Mainland, with covered, theatre-style seating close to the field for an enhanced spectator experience.
