Current Program: Post Graduate Diploma in Urban Studies, Simon Fraser University

Research & Urban Interests: Heather’s interests include urban sustainability, resilience, and climate change mitigation. She is also interested in the intersection of the natural world and human behaviour, including topics related to the biophilia effect. She is currently working on her transfer to the MURB program, and hopes to undertake a thesis surrounding the value of public green space, by investigating Pacific Spirit Regional Park. 

Current/Previous Work: Heather has spent her time post undergrad, travelling throughout Canada, the US, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. She has extensive experience working in hospitality and tourism and now hopes to shift her career towards placemaking. She was recently employed by the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue as an urban researcher in the Pivot 2020 program. 

When not studying, Heather enjoys exploring Vancouver, running, doing yoga, writing, reading, and a number of creative projects!
