Urban Planning & Research Interests: Vladimir’s research & urban interests include urban resilience, smart cities and regions, active transportation and sustainable transportation, land use planning, urban design for equitable planning and development, urban biodiversity, urban creativity, inter-city collaboration (from regional to international levels) in disaster risk reduction and protection, sustainable development and more livable cities and regions.

Current/Previous Work: Vladimir has extensive experience in urban planning, architectural design, construction, and interior design. Working as a project manager, independent planner-investigator and designer, on various domestic and international projects and research advances in Europe, he acquired motivational and communication skills for interacting with clients, city officials, project directors, design team leaders and other team members. His more recent working experience includes projects in interior design and custom architectural millwork design across Canada & USA.

When not studying… Vlad enjoys cycling, skiing, cooking, or trying new foods. Enjoys having long walks on the sea-wall, in local parks, and on surrounding mountains with his wife, while taking photographs of the city skyline and nature.
