M.Urb student Samuel Baron comments on Commercial Drive bike lane proposal

M.Urb student Samuel Baron is quoted in a Vancouver Magazine story about a proposed bike lane on Commercial Drive. Some local merchants have expressed concern about how the lane might affect their businesses. Baron, who, along with other urban studies students, has formed the Slow Streets group, provided these comments:

To me, it’s about designing this retail street to better reflect the needs of the residents and the fact that it’s one of the primary retail streets in Vancouver. It’s one where people go specifically to be a pedestrian because it’s an interesting place to walk and an interesting place to be.”
