DEVELOPING PEOPLE AND FOSTERING A MORE INCLUSIVE PLACE TO TEACH, LEARN AND WORK.

The Office of the Vice-President, People, Equity and Inclusion (VPPEI) is responsible for developing people and championing an equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) strategy that ensures EDI values are embedded in all our key decisions and institutional strategies. 

Through SFU Human Resources, the VPPEI supports employees through a comprehensive approach to labour relations, recruitment, training, leadership identification and professional development.   

Led by VPPEI Yabome Gilpin-Jackson, the office oversees SFU’s EDI mandate by supporting anti-oppression initiatives and promoting a teaching, learning and working environment that is safe, diverse, equitable and inclusive for all members of our community.
