Educational Goals Initiative
Simon Fraser University’s Educational Goals Initiative calls for SFU academic units to define educational goals for their programs and courses and periodically review their progress toward achieving these goals. The educational goals assessment process is integrated with the external review cycle for each unit.
Academic units engage in four main activities during a seven-year assessment cycle:
- Defining their educational goals
- Collecting data
- Analyzing data
- Taking action
The next steps for the Educational Goals Initiative include defining educational goals for the university and improving support for assessment of educational goals.
