Upcoming SFU ArtsLIVE Peformances

Burnaby Campus | Spring 2022 | All performances will take place on Tuesdays from 12:30pm - 1:30pm. 

All Burnaby Campus presentations will take place in Convocation Mall, as well as a mix of small indoor and outdoor pop up venues across campus as dictated by weather, and concurrent events.

Surrey Campus | Spring 2022

Beginning in March All Surrey Campus performances will take place on Wednesdays from 12:30pm - 1:30pm. And FORM films on Atrium campus screens on Thursdays at 12:30.

Meet your Hosts:

Jeanette Kotowich Indigenous Co-Host

Jeanette is a multi-disciplinary iskwêw, dance artist, producer, choreographer, facilitator, and professional Auntie of Nêhiyaw Métis and mixed settler ancestry. Originally from Treaty 4 territory Saskatchewan, Jeanette is passionate about blending Indigenous and non-Indigenous practices together. Her creative endeavors focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, de-colonial strategies in the creative process, experimental digital expression, cultural knowledge sharing, land-base research, and Indigenous futurism. Her practice is intergenerational and vocational; it’s a living and lived experience. Jeanette resides as a guest on the Ancestral and unceded Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) əl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ/ (Tsleil-Waututh) and Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) territories, colonially known as Vancouver.

Nyla Carpentier Indigenous Co-Host

Nyla Carpentier (Tahltan, Kaska, French, Scottish) is a multifaceted performing artist currently residing in North Vancouver. She is a new mom, a powwow dancer and workshop facilitator. Theatre acting highlights: Battle of the Birds (Savage Society), The Flats/Les Flats (Prairie Theatre Exchange and Theatre Cercle Moliere), The Berlin Blues and Ipperwash (The Blyth Theatre Festival), Busted Up: A Yukon Story (Openpit Theatre), God’s Lake (Castlereigh Productions) and Nyla performed her new solo Dissection of a… Mixed Heritage Woman (Victoria and Vancouver Fringe Festival) Drawing on her experience as someone of mixed heritage - her goal is to blend the past, present and create new works for the future.

PAST SFU ArtsLIVE Performances
