For Presenters

Presentation from file (without laptop)
Bring your presentation file as either a .ppt Powerpoint or (better) .pdf file on a cd-rom or USB key. A laptop with a projector will be available for presentation, but it will be the presenter's responsibility to ensure that the file is loaded and properly running well before presentation time. If you would like to keep a backup on the local machines, please send your file to us (salt20@mail.arts.ubc.ca) at least two days before the conference.

Presentation from laptop
Display projectors will be available for all presentations. Presenters will be required to set up their laptop, connect to the projector and test the connection prior to their session. Please be prepared to set up your laptop as the questions from the previous session are wrapping up so that there is a smooth transition from one talk to the next. Mac users should be sure to bring the correct adapter to connect to a standard 15-pin VGA connector.

Please do not rely on network access for your presentation. If you have any special technical needs for your presentation, please let us know as soon as possible, and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Handouts
If you need to prepare handouts, please prepare 100 copies. Should you need to make additional copies, the nearest copy centre is Kinko's (open 24 hours) on Pender Street between Granville and Howe, just a few blocks from the conference site.

Transparencies
Overhead projectors will be available in the room for transparencies.

Audio Presentation
External speakers (connecting through a standard headphone jack) can be ordered; please advise the committee in advance if you need audio for your presentation.

Poster Presentations
Please format your posters so that they can fit within a 4' by 4' (122cm by 122cm) area, in either portrait or landscape format. Mounting materials will be provided on-site. Poster presenters should be on hand at least 15 to 30 minutes in advance of their session so that everything is ready to go for the start of the session.

Posters can be printed locally at Kinko's (details above), but allow for at least 24 hours from order to pick-up.
