CALCULATOR POLICY

The policy concerning what calculators may be used is similar, but not identical, to that prescribed by the BC Ministry of Education for Principles of Mathematics 12. The ministry's policy is found on pages 1-3 of the Ministry's Examination Specifications for Principles of Mathematics 12.

For this year's Calculus Challenge Examination the differences, from the ministry's policy for the Principles of Mathematics 12 examination, are that a student may bring at most one calculator to the exam and calculator memories should be cleared at the beginning of the examination.

Although students are permitted to use calculators in the Calculus Challenge Exam, the examination will not emphasize their use.
