Description

The topics covered in this course will include tests of hypotheses, tests using the chi-square distribution, regression and correlation, multiple regression, time series analysis and index number construction (like the CPI).

Grades

The final grade for the course will be based on weekly assignments (5%), a 5-8 page term project (15%), a midterm in Week 7 (20%), and a final examination (60%).

Examination Policy

No permission will be given to a student to write a test - midterm or final - in advance of its scheduled date. A student who misses a test will be allowed to write a make-up test only if both of the following conditions are met: (1) the student notifies me or the Department of Economics (291-3508) in advance that the test will be missed; (2) the student provides a medical certificate showing physical incapability to write the test.
