For making quality recordings metal tape will give the best results, followed by chrome tapes. | Standard low bias tape will most likely be too noisy for most applications demanding any fidelity and absence of noise. |
Its
best to avoid the longer format tapes such as
C-100, C-120, and longer. Compromises in tape thickness have to be made to accomodate such long tape lengths which makes them more susceptible to problems such as stretching and drop out. |
