order for musicians to synchronize their performance with each other in
a multitrack environment (where a player may add a
track at a different session for example) it is common
practice to record a metronome signal on one of the tracks of a multitrack.
This track may also be generated electronically via computer sequencers and other devices. Click tracks are also used in film music recording to tightly synchronize music performance to picture. |
