Frame (video)   

There are 29.97 frames per second of NTSC (North American standard) video.  Each frame is comprised of two interlocking fields, one with even lines of image, the other with the odd numbered lines. If timecode is present in the video signal it is recorded with the image in what is known as the vertical interval of the video signal and is called VITC or “vitsee”.
