Timecode which has been recorded may lose some of its high frequency signal and thus the ideal rectangular waveforms which represents the data may become rounded | Timecode devices need the instant on/off of a sharp edged waveform to properly function. |
A refresher has an input for this less than perfect code and instantly
generates a more rectangular or “clean” version.
Very useful for timecode coming off a VHS deck. |
