Philosophy 110 Day

Text: Logic and Philosophy: a Modern Introduction, 11th edition, by Hausman, Kahane, and Tidman.
It is essential that students have the correct edition of the text.

Course Requirements:

• Assignments: 8 or 9 of them worth a total of 10% of the course grade
• First midterm: worth 20% of the course grade
• Second midterm: worth 30% of the course grade
• Final exam: worth 40% of the course grade
  

The final examination for Philosophy 110 will be written at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, April 18, 2011 in B9200.
It is imperative that everyone take whatever steps are necessary to write exams at the scheduled time and place.
Again, a copy of the sheet of inference rules will be provided at the final exam.

The format of the final exam for Philosophy 110 will be as follows:

• Part A: true/false items
• Part B: multiple choice questions with the possibility of more than one response
• Part C: translations involving the notation of sentential logic
• Part D: translations and expansions involving the notation of predicate logic
• Part E: constructing proofs in sentential logic

All students must present official photo ID at the final exam.

Dr. Horban will hold exam-period office hours on Wednesday, April 13, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
