CICA Vancouver is pleased to annouce Dominican-born artist Tania Marmolejo's first solo exhibition in Canada, opening from June 1 to July 9, 2023. Marmolejo grounds her expressive figures in the wildness of fluid landscapes. Her characters peel out from behind trees, emerging and exploring their environment while beckoning the viewer through their wide-eyed stares.

Exploring Interconnected Landscapes:
Marmolejo's Artistic Journey

Marmolejo's expressive figures ground themselves in fluid landscapes, peeking out from behind tress and beckoning the viewer wide-eyed stares. The paintings invite viewers into internal and emotional landscapes, connecting the lush Dominican Republic foliage with Vancouver's coastal landscape and the Indigenous people of Mosqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh.
