DCT-based General Structure for Linear Phase Paraunitary Filter Banks

The DCT-based TDLT can be generalized to cover all even-channel linear phase paraunitary filter banks, which can be viewed as the dual of the generalized LOT (GenLOT). The DCT can also be embedded in the existing structure of odd-channel LPPUFB and filter bank with pair-wise mirror image property.

Advantages of the new structure:

• Fast implementation;
• Reduced complexity in the FB design;
• DCT-oriented initialization can be applied to ensure the convergence of the FB optimization.
• DC leakage can be eliminated with simple modification.
