Accommodation

First and foremost, if you're planning to attend the conference, we strongly suggest to book your accommodation as early as possible.

Vancouver is known as one the best cities in the world to live in, according to Mercer's City Ranking. Because of its vibrant city life, pleasant summer weather and the surrounding nature, it is a popular tourist destination.

Moreover, from 21st of June till 1st of July Vancouver is hosting its traditional annual Vancouver International Jazz Festival, which we highly advise you to attend. There are expected around 5,000 visitors this year, so it may be harder to find good places to stay, if you decide to book your accommodation closer to the festival's dates.

Below we've collected a couple of links to some cheaper hotels:

Simons Hotel on Burnaby campus
Rooms: $111 CAD - $140 CAD (+ tax)

The conference venue can be reached from here by a 40-45 minutes bus ride.

To reserve your room, click on the "Reserve Now" button below, and select "SFU Logic in Computer Science (Jun/21/2019 to Jun/28/2019)" from the drop-down menu.

These rooms for conference visitors are available until April 22. However, even after the 22nd of April you may be able to book a room on the general basis.

Address: 8888 University Dr, Burnaby, BC V5A 1S6

YWCA Hotel
Rooms: $106 CAD - $215 CAD (+ tax)

The YWCA Hotel is a safe and affordable hotel in downtown Vancouver. Located 900m from SFU Harbour Centre (about 12 minutes to walk).

Range of private room types accommodating between 1 and 4 people, with hallway, shared, or private bathroom facilities.

Nightly rates for June 2019:

  • from $106 (single bed with hallway bath)
  • to $215 (2 double beds with private bath, additional $15 for a third and $15 for a fourth occupant).
  • Reduction for seniors (60+ years old).

Includes: WiFi, local calls, mini-fridge, hairdryer, shared kitchens, guest lounges, small onsite fitness centre, and use of large fitness centre with pool and gym within a 15-minute walk. Excludes: tax (currently 12.5%) and parking.

Laundry and coffee shop are on site. There is likely to be some construction noise during regular working hours because of a planned hotel extension.

Address: 733 Beatty St, Vancouver, BC V6B 2M4

We strongly advise you to book your accommodation now. You can cancel without penalty up to 7 days before the start of booking.

For other options slightly cheaper than downtown you may consider:

located in North Vancouver across Burrard Inlet from the conference venue. The hotels are accessible by a short sail on seabus (ferry).

You may also consider more remote locations provided they are nearby Skytrain (metro).

Conference Dinner

Conference dinner will be at the Top of Vancouver revolving restaurant. The restaurant is located at 553 feet (167m) above the ground and has an unobstructed view of Vancouver, the coastal mountains and the ocean. Windows specifically angled for maximum viewing of the city below.

"One revolution completed every 60 minutes", as the website of the restaurant says.
