ENSC 427: COMMUNICATION NETWORKS

Read:
  • A. Leon-Garcia and I. Widjaja: Chapter 3: Digital Transmission Fundamentals

  • Prepare for the Midterm: Wednesday, February 9, 2011.

  • Continue working with the OPNET Tutorials. Run OPNET and find link to Tutorials under the Help menu. Open the Tutorial page. Select the appropriate tutorial from the menu located on the left-hand side of the page.
        Tutorials > Modeler Only Tutorials > Modeler Tutorials:
        1. M/M/1 Queue
    Note: You may have to make selections using the links located on the left-hand side of the page rather than links displayed in the main portion of the window.
    Modeler Reference material is available from the menu located on the left-hand side of the page.

  • Submit OPNET printouts illustrating each step of the M/M/1 Queue OPNET Tutorial.
    Briefly describe the main steps.
    Include time-stamps on the printouts.
    Limit your submission to six pages: the cover page plus five typed pages. The cover page should only include course title (ENSC 427: COMMUNICATION NETWORKS), term (Spring 2011), your full name (last name, first name), and your SFU email address. Double-sided printouts are encouraged.

  • Submit the title and a short abstract describing your project if you have not already done so.
  • Begin collecting references for your project.
  • Continue working on the topic for your final project.
