ENSC 895/ENSC 460: SPECIAL TOPICS: THEORY, ANALYSIS, AND SIMULATION OF NONLINEAR CIRCUITS

Assignment #11:

  • Read:

Lj. Trajkovic, ``Homotopy methods for computing dc operating points,'' invited contribution to the Encyclopedia of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, J. G. Webster, Ed. New York: John Wiley & Sons, 1999, vol. 9, pp. 171-176.

  • 1. For the two circuits from Assignment #10, problem No. 2, run SPICE (any version) and obtain transfer characteristics v-i across the one-port when:
  • voltage driven
  • current driven.
    Use default transistor models.
Choose R's so that each one-port exhibits negative differential resistance (NDR).
    For example, for circuit 2(b), chose: R1 = 110 Ohm, R2 = 237 Ohm, R3 = 21.5 kOhm, and R5 = 21.5 kOhm.
